The Golden Dawn vs The World

Tuesday 31st January ~ Secret Surprise Soundsystem
Did you go to that music festival yesterday? Pretty fun eh. I'm wondering if one or two of the people who were playing yesterday are DJing here tonight. We'll see. Don't hold your breath though, these things have a way of not happening. I definitely don't think the guys from Toro Y Moi are DJing tonight from 7pm - late

Wednesday 1st February ~ DJ Sam Hamilton
Our favourite wandering soul is back in the house and carrying bundles of new, old, and borrowed sounds! Come prepared for prancing and dancing the likes of which only Mr Hamilton can encourage. From Cumbia to bumblebee wing flutter sound effects in a few easy hours!7pm - late

Thursday 2nd February ~ DJs House & Garden + Custard Square + guests
Last time we saw these two chaps in the same place at the same time, they were half naked in a Berlin brasserie, transporting themselves live via Skype onto our screens and into our speakers. Now they're back where they belong, ready to curdle our ear-milk with the sounds of yesterday's future, and peddling today's freakish aural daydreams.

Joining this merry two-some are some exciting secret guests. These guests may or may not include members of the Dan Deacon Ensemble, and may or may not incorporate some stand-up comedy, weird drumming jams, and/or DJ jams.
8pm - close

Friday 3rd February ~ DJs Kikikiki & Uncle Barnie
DJ Kikikiki 7pm - 11pm
DJ Uncle Barnie 11pm - close

Saturday 4th February ~ The Ryegrass Staggers (live) $5
Polish those spurs, pick off your burrs, tip your hat, and get in line to dance with The Ryegrass Staggers! The country-loving alter ego band of Mr Joe Blossom, The Staggers are in town for one night only to deliver a Cash/Carter style country lovers jukebox full of hits - live! We're pretty darned excited about the prospect of this little hoedown! The band will be ably aided and abetted by DJ Papa Dave Taylor - our in-house psycho-country-r&b expert... expect big things! 8pm - close

Sunday 5th February ~ Sun Araw, Mark McGuire & Pumice (DJ Sets)
Sun Araw, aka US psych-pop / dub voyager Cameron Stallones is returning to New Zealand in February for two shows. Here just over a year ago, Stallones returns to play Wellington and Auckland with a full band in support of his new album Ancient Romans out now on Drag City, but we've managed to sneak him in for a quick DJ set this Sunday!

The Araw will be joined by masters of noise Mark McGuire (USA) and Pumice for an afternoon slash evening of pure musical adventuring! 5pm - late
